Modern sounds – HK Audio joins the family
Making its debut with us as
the front of house system for John Williamson in October
2008, HK Audio’s ConTour Array line array is our most recent
acquisition and a welcome and useful addition to our
equipment. State-of-the-art components and leading edge
engineering methods allow the ConTour Array to deliver
superb dynamic response paired with exceedingly faithful
sound reproduction. Alongside excellent audio quality, this
line array is all about light weight, versatility and easy,
practical handling.
Big names – Toni Childs & Leo Sayer
2009 is proving to be an exciting year, the highlight so far
being hitting the road with internationally acclaimed
singing sensation Toni Childs. Returning to the spotlight
after releasing a new album, Toni took us on tour around WA
utilising our new HK Audio Line Array. Playing to full
houses and standing ovations, Toni’s concerts made the most
of the fantastic sound of the HK Audio system and the
production skills of the X-DC Pro Audio & Lighting team
accompanying her.
Our biggest production call for 2008 was the annual
Brookhampton Estate concert featuring international pop
music artist Leo Sayer as the headline act. The whole event
was scaled up and featured a 37m wide stage and roof with a
massive 72,000w concert
sound system and utilizing an impressive light show
including Martin Mac 250, 550 & 600 moving lights, 80 Par 64
Cans, 16 4-way blinders, CityCOLOR 2500s and two 2000W
follow spots. Our crew of ten worked for the better part of
two weeks to build and set up the staging, roof, audio and
lighting and once show-time rolled around a crowd of well
over 6000 were suitably awed by the concert.
Bigger and better Soundcrafts
We have also been busy upgrading our large event mixing
consoles. Our faithful Soundcraft 8000 will be getting a few
well deserved nights off with the arrival of a new MH3,
Soundcraft’s top of the range live mixing console. Boasting
56 channels, 12 auxiliaries, 8 VCA groups & 8 Sub groups, it
delivers intuitive and uncompromised operation in all
applications.
We have also splashed out on a dedicated monitor console, a
40 channel Soundcraft Monitor 2. This versatile desk
combines all the necessities of a professional monitor desk
with elegant design features aimed at speed and clarity in
use.
Accreditation – getting the tick of
approval
It won’t be long before the Tourism Association’s Trust the
Tick logo will be appearing on our business documents. As
part of our ongoing business development and members of the
Events Industry Association in WA, in late 2008 we embarked
on their accreditation program, which falls under the
Tourism Association umbrella. We are now only a few weeks
away from this goal & you can be assured of the same
exceptional service you have always received as we further
refine our operations and become officially recognised as a
leading supplier of production equipment. As always, your
feedback is essential to our development and we welcome your
comments.
The X-DC Team
Our friendly, professional team has a broad mix of skills
and comes with extensive experience in variety of
backgrounds. We also have a fantastic training culture which
promotes the development of the events industry in WA and
ensures our staff are continually updating and expanding
their knowledge.
